Privacy Policy

Effective Date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] • Published by Davetech Global

1. Overview

This policy explains the data practices of Anthill, a peer-to-peer torrent downloader developed by Davetech Global (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We believe in transparent software design that minimizes data retention. Anthill is engineered to operate locally on your computer without account requirements or central telemetry.

Anthill itself collects no personal data. This policy is intended to follow applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. No Accounts and No User Credentials

Anthill does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, name, or password. There are no remote profiles, user databases, or authentication servers connected to the application.

3. No Telemetry or Usage Analytics

Anthill contains zero advertising tracking libraries, behavioral telemetry, or third-party usage analytics. We do not track which files you download, how often you launch the app, how long you run it, or what network speeds you achieve. The software does not report usage events to Davetech Global or any third-party analytics provider.

4. Local Storage on Your Device

All application state is stored solely on your local computer storage within your Windows user profile (under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Anthill). This local storage includes:

  • Session data: The list of torrent files and magnet links you have loaded, along with piece verification resume states.
  • Settings: Your preferences for download folders, bandwidth speed caps, and connection limits.
  • Metadata cache: Torrent information files (.torrent) downloaded to facilitate file transfers.
  • Optional debug log: If you explicitly enable debug logging in settings, diagnostic events are recorded to a local text file on your drive for troubleshooting.

This data never leaves your computer unless you manually export or move it.

5. Public Swarm and Network Protocol Disclosures

Important protocol notice: Torrent networking is decentralized and peer-to-peer. By design, connecting to a peer swarm involves direct network communication with other computers.

When you add a torrent or magnet link and initiate transfer in Anthill, the following technical data transmissions occur:

  • IP Address and Swarm Visibility: Your public IP address is transmitted to torrent trackers and other peers active in the same swarm. Peers and trackers can observe your IP address and the specific torrent transfer you have joined. Furthermore, because network packets are routed across public internet infrastructure, third parties on the network path (such as internet service providers, local network operators, or transit routers) may observe unencrypted network traffic and connection endpoints.
  • Local Peer Discovery (Multicast): To optimize transfer speeds with peers located on your home or local office network, Anthill may broadcast local multicast discovery packets across your local network subnet.
  • Tracker Communications: Anthill announces its presence to the tracker servers listed in the torrent file via standard HTTP, HTTPS, or UDP messages to retrieve lists of active peer IP addresses and port numbers.
  • Distributed Hash Table (DHT): If enabled by torrent metadata, Anthill queries public DHT nodes over UDP to find additional peers without relying on centralized trackers.
  • Router Port Mapping (UPnP / NAT-PMP): To allow incoming peer connections, Anthill may communicate with your local network router using UPnP or NAT-PMP protocols to request automatic port forwarding. You may disable or block this behavior through your router administration interface or local firewall settings.

6. Microsoft Store Platform Services

If you acquire Anthill through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft Corporation manages the download, installation, updates, and commercial transactions in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Through the Microsoft Partner Center developer portal, Microsoft provides Davetech Global with aggregate statistical reports covering total acquisition numbers, active device counts, and geographical distribution. Additionally, if you have configured Windows diagnostic data collection on your device, Microsoft may provide Davetech Global with crash logs and reliability metrics to help diagnose technical failures and improve software stability, subject to Microsoft platform policies.

7. Children’s Information

Anthill is not directed toward children under 13 years of age (or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates in legislation or technical implementation. When revisions occur, the updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Effective Date”. We recommend checking this page to stay informed of our data policies.
